But more than that (and the reason I'm sharing this with you) he is an artist. And I wanted you to see his work and read his story. I hope they don't mind my doing so.
As soon as I read the email, I went straight to his website to have a look. I don't know what I was expecting, really. But it wasn't what I saw.

And the peonies. Delicate, feathery, barely pink. Stunning.
It's inspiring to see a person whose art is their livelihood. Someone who fulfills their passion every day. And makes something beautiful for all of us to enjoy.

I guess mine is music. I started playing the trombone way back in middle school in the USA and played through college in the Cornhusker marching band. I stopped for a long time when I started working, but picked it back up when we moved to Provence over 10 years ago. I have been playing in village fanfares and jazz bands ever since. It's been the greatest way to meet the really local people.

Incredible. Had you not said they were paintings, I'm not sure I would have noticed. The abstract Primordia Blue and Orange is my favourite.

His artwork is beautiful! I love the Starlings painting on the landscape page, but it's hard to pick a favorite. I can totally imagine myself in a new location staring at his works! Thanks for sharing Aidan!

DeleteWow, his landscapes are very hard to distinguish from photographs; they are amazing! I am not much into abstract art so that doesn't appeal to me as much as his flowers and landscapes.
ReplyDeleteP-Daddy felt the same, not that into abstracts either. I would love to see one of those landscapes in person, wouldn't you? Just to get an up-close look at them.
