My visit to Omaha beach and the American Cemetary a few years ago was maybe the most moving event of my life, despite the fact it was pouring rain. I thought it was appropriate to visit in such dismal conditions and contemplate the sacrifices and loss of life that day that I am sure made our rain storm look like a sunny day.
